This position is a 4 to 8 month co-op opportunity.   

Key Job Elements:  
The Desktop Support Technician is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the hardware/software needs of a location within the corporate infrastructure. The incumbent is an energetic individual able to perform in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to collaborate with in-house users and external vendors and/or consultants to accomplish a variety of tasks. The Desktop Support Technician will handle desk side support issues for all office users including troubleshooting and assisting users with connectivity issues, logging all incidents properly and following up to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.  
  
Responsibilities:   
  • Maintain network, perform hardware and software installations, configurations and maintenance
  • Action Helpdesk assigned Tickets and Cases
  • Escalate issues to appropriate internal resources
  • Point of contact for escalated on-site troubleshooting
  • Configure computers for new hires and handle move requests as needed. Provide primary “New-Hire” orientation of information systems
  • Maintain inventory of Hardware
  • Perform application software upgrades
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and repair of company computers and peripheral equipment
  • After-hours on call support
  • Provide technical insight to overall IT planning
  • Ensure that users adhere to corporate IT standards policies and procedures

Qualifications:  
  • Technical knowledge of Windows desktop and server environment
  • A+ certification or demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
  • PC Desktop repair/maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Superior organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work in a 24 hour a day, 365 days per year environment
