Specialist/Engineer – Logistics Project Engineering (LPE)
Key Job Elements:
- Logistics Project Engineering Lead within the Logistics Systems and Validation (LS&V) department.
- Responsible for the project planning and execution required to develop and deliver support products for the LRSS program.
- Plan for the development and delivery of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) products on acquisition phase contract, and plan for the seamless transition into a future in-service support (ISS) phase for these products.
- Responsible to oversee the development and delivery of any of the following types of contractual deliverables: ILS Plan, Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) Plan, Technical Publication (TP) Plan, Reliability and Maintainability Plan, Logistic Support Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Supportability Trend Analysis, Recommended Spare Parts List (RSPL), Recommended Support Equipment List (RSERL), Training Aids, Special Tools and Test Equipment (STTE), NATO Codification of Spare Parts, Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR), Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), Translation of Technical Documentation
- Ensure compliance with the contract and management of the ILS deliverables
- Liaise with Safety Engineering, Obsolescence Management, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Training, Packaging, Handling, Shipping and Transportation (PHS&T), Supply Chain Management, Program Management, Trade Compliance Management, Contract Management, Suppliers and Sub-contractors to ensure alignment of data within the contractual deliverables
- Maintain close awareness of engineering design progress and other dependencies to the ILS schedule and manage the update of internal/external schedules accordingly
- Direct subcontractors logistics efforts to ensure logistics products/new designs are developed in accordance with prime contract(s) requirements and that subcontractor Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) deliverables are delivered on time and in accordance with subcontract requirements
- Facilitate Logistics Support Analysis and Technical Publications development and delivery to customer
- Manage project(s) execution for scope, cost and schedule using EVMS and departmental procedures and guidance documents
- Prepare and coordinate cost estimates and proposals
- Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and solutions to meet program requirements
- Apply independent judgment in the performance of duties consistent with directives, policies, standards and regulations
- Lead the investigation and analysis of the root causes of issues and propose/implement corrective actions to bring issues to resolution
- Provide technical/strategic input into the development of formal customer correspondence pertaining to deliverables, contract objectives, schedules, and event planning
- Support customer and subcontractor meetings as required (Program and Design reviews, ILS reviews, etc.)
- Plan and execute Hands-on Validation (HoV) events
- Support buyers with spare parts inquiries/investigation to address supply support for the system during its lifetime
- Support the Configuration Management process, evaluate documentation for impacts to ILS products and life-cycle logistics support, including implementation of the change(s) into the ILS products
- Participate in the software configuration control process, understand and evaluate the impact to the ILS products resulting from the applicable change descriptions for software, firmware and sub-component software versions for all systems
- Integrate feedback/learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, customer service, other industries, and industry groups, to continuously improve competitive position
Required Qualifications:
- University Degree or College Diploma in a technical discipline
- Proficient communication, organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to provide effective leadership in meetings
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment

- Ability to travel (10% Canadian) and (5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
- Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-5 years’ relevant experience
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management
- Familiarity with Military sustainment strategies for Land Equipment
- Familiar with logistics planning, system design support and logistics engineering tasks surrounding new acquisition systems architecture and life cycle support and capable of executing and monitoring formal task completion
- Familiarity with principles and implementation of Contractor Logistics Support and Performance Based Logistics
- Experience in ILS, Reliability & Maintainability Engineering or Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) Development
- Familiarity with the S1000D specification and MIL-STD-1388 2A/2B is desirable
- Eligible to obtain P.Eng, C.E.T, or C.Tech professional designation in Ontario
- PMP or CAPM designations through the PMI are desirable
